All computer wheel balancers require the user to input rim diameter, rim width, and the distance of the mounted wheel from the wheel balancer.  The NTB-580 requires the user to input all three of these measurements.  The NTB-860 requires the user to only enter the wheel width.  The other two measurements are automatically entered by simply touching the distance ruler to the mounted wheel.  This decreases labor time and user error.

Most computer wheel balancers contain simple red light display boards that can sometimes be hard to read or even cause measurement error if one of the red light bulbs is not working.  The NTB-860 is equipped with a LCD computer screen that is easy to navigate and read and ensures accuracy.  The user can also easily change the language shown on the screen to English, French, German, or Chinese.  Measurements can be displayed in grams or ounces and in mm or inches.

Most balancers will require the user to hold the wheel in place with their hand or with their knee while attaching the wheel weight to the rim.  The NTB-860 has a built in foot pedal break.  The foot pedal break allows the user to hold the wheel at the correct position while attaching the wheel weight.  This allows for quick and easy balancing, cuts down on user error, and keeps rims from being damaged while attaching the wheel weight.
